MP serial chlorinated resins are copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether. They can be used as base resin for air-drying paints or other physical drying paints. At present, only Germany, USA, Japan and China can produce these items. According to the international convention, chlorinated rubbers were forbidden to produce from 2004. MP series chlorinated resins, as base resin for heavy duty anticorrosion paints, can replace chlorinated rubber. They have broad prospects with their high ratio of quality to price and environmental protection advantage.
MP45 resin
Characteristics
1.Appearance and Composition:MP 45 is presented as a fine, white powder consisting of a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether
2.Chemical Properties:With a chlorine content of approximately 44%,MP 45 exhibits excellent saponification resistance. The stable chlorine atoms in the molecular chain provide high corrosion resistance to water, acids, bases, and salts.
3.Physical Properties:The resin has a moderate viscosity of 45 mPa·s at 23°C, a density of approximately 1.24 g/cm³ at 23°C, and a suitable Vicat softening point.
4.Solubility:MP 45 is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It can also dissolve in esters, ketones, glycol ethers, acetate esters, and some alcohol ethers. Aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohols are good diluents but are not true solvents for MP-45.
5.Adhesion:The resin demonstrates good adhesion to various substrates, including iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, mineral substrates, and plastics. It exhibits excellent adhesion, particularly on polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, and other plastic films.
6.Other Properties:MP 45 is non-toxic with a slight odor and low residual solvent content, making it suitable for toluene-based and toluene-free ink systems.

Applications
1.Coatings:MP 45 serves as a binder resin in coatings for steel structures, ships and underwater structures, machinery, automotive engineering, transportation equipment, and building protection. Its excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance make it an ideal choice for these applications.
2.Ink Printing:The resin is also used as a binder in ink printing, particularly in gravure inks for flexible packaging. It offers excellent adhesion on various plastic films such as biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP, OPP), polyethylene (PE), and polyester (PET), with enhanced pigment wetting and superior printing performance.
3.Other Applications:In addition, MP 45 finds applications in adhesives and plastics due to its unique physicochemical properties and good processing performance.
